Maintenance Schedule for Normal and Severe Conditions - General Countries

This maintenance schedule outlines the minimum required maintenance that you should perform to ensure the trouble-free operation of the vehicle- Due to regional and climatic differences, some additional service may be required. Please consult the warranty booklet for a more detailed description- NOTE: The following items must be used for "severe conditions" indicated on schedule-

Engine oil and engine oil filter: A/B/C/D/E

Transmission fluid: B/D

A.

Driving less than 8 km (5 miles) per trip or, in freezing temperatures, driving less than 16 km (10 miles) per trip.

B.

Driving in extremely hot over 35 °C (95 °F) conditions.

C.

Extensive idling, or long periods of stop-and-go driving.

D.

Towing trailer, driving with a loaded roof rack, or driving in mountainous conditions.

E.

Driving on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads- *1:

Regular use of injector cleaner is required for models designated for Cayman, Honduras, Nicaragua, Gambia, Nigeria, Cape Verde, Peru, Djibouti, Guinea, Guatemala, Venezuela, Haiti, Togo and Equatorial Guinea- *3:

Regular use of injector cleaner may be required for models designated for the following countries, it will depend on the quality of the fuel used. It is recommended replace the fuel filter if the fuel you are using is suspected to be contaminated with dust, etc. because the filter may be clogged sooner- Service at the indicated distance or time whichever comes first

Inspect drive belt

Look for cracks and damage, then check the position of drive belt auto-tensioner indicator- Except Hybrid

Replace engine coolant

We recommend genuine Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2- At 200,000 km (120,000 miles) or 10 years, thereafter every 100,000 km (60,000 miles) or 5 years

Replace transmission fluid (HCF-2)

Always use genuine Honda HCF-2.NOTE: Using the wrong type of fluid will damage the transmission- LL-CVT

Replace rear differential fluid

We recommend genuine Honda DPSF-II-

Inspect front and rear brakes

Check brake pads and disc thickness. Check for damage-

Check brake calipers for damage, leaks, and tightness- Every 10,000 km (6,000 miles) or 6 months

Replace brake fluid

Brake Fluid DOT 3 or DOT 4:We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid.Using a non-Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the life of the system-

Check brake fluid level is between upper and lower marks on reservoir- Every 3 years

Check parking brake adjustment (Except EPB)

Replace dust and pollen filter (if equipped)

Check expiry date for tire repair kit (if equipped)

Every year

Rotate tires

Check tire inflation and condition at least once per month- Every 10,000 km (6,000 miles)

Visually inspect the following items:

Check for correct installation and position, check for cracks, deterioration, rust, and leaks-

Check tightness of screws, nuts, and joints. If necessary, retighten- Tie-rod ends, steering gearbox, and boots

Check steering linkage-

Check boots for damage and leaking grease- Every 10,000 km (6,000 miles) or 6 months

Suspension components

Check bolts for tightness-

Check all dust covers for deterioration and damage- Driveshaft boots

Check boots and boot bands for cracks-

Check boots for leaking grease- Brake hoses and lines (including VSA lines)

Check master cylinder and VSA modulator-control unit for damage and leakage-

All fluid levels and condition of fluids

Check levels and check for leaks. If necessary, add:

Engine coolant

CVT fluid

Rear differential fluid

Brake fluid

Windshield washer fluid

Exhaust system

Check catalytic converter heat shields, exhaust pipe, and muffler for damage, leaks, and tightness- Fuel lines and connections

Check fuel lines for loose connections, cracks, and deterioration-

Retighten loose connections and replace any damaged parts.
